Branching out from ceramics and clay for the first time, we weren’t sure where we were going to end up when we starting playing with iron as the medium for the Joe pots and saucers. We really wanted to achieve a modern and clean look that could also work in a more traditional environment. We used warm tones of copper and bronze contrasted against textures and subtle patterns in earthy colours like brown, green and mahogany and we hit the nail on head. Each pot has a matching saucer to give them a clean, polished look. 

Your plants will feel sophisticated and cool in these planters. Just remember, if you keep your Joe’s in a consistently hot and sunny area make sure you check the soil for dryness a little more frequently than you would for a ceramic planter as the heat with dry it out quicker.

Each and every one of your plants is unique and special. We wanted to replicate that one-of-kind feeling in a line of planters so we played around with a triple-dip glazing process that ensures no two pots are alike. We made sure that the colour range of Greens, Blues, and Metallics looks cohesive so they match together, but still are very individual from each other. While they are made of ceramic, we purposely left portions of some of the pots raw to add texture and to give them that natural vibe. The cement-like appearance also pushes the look a little bit into the contemporary realm. We like to think of the Minute pots as a planter shapeshifter. Whether you have a boho-chic or a modern all white aesthetic going on, the colours and textures of the glazes make sense to your environment. Fang has bite! In both shape and color palette, these modern plant pots nibble away at the idea of what 4-inch pots for plants are supposed to look like. While it does not have a drainage hole, a shallow layer of gravel on the bottom will keep your succulents happy. Just be careful not to over-water – a teaspoon of water once your potting soil dries out is enough to keep your succulent going.

We call these collections of beautiful ceramic succulents and flowers and sea-like creatures “Coral” but we should have just called them “Stunning”. Each Coral piece is handmade and that is reflected in their exquisite detail, each one is a little work of art that is completely unique. When we made the first collection some years ago they were designed as cool tabletop decorations, similar to something we saw in Grandmas curio when we were kids and that we always wanted to sneak home with us. Some of the earlier models are sit-abouts only and some are too small to have the keyhole. For these ones, simply use a Command Strip to hang them.
