Build Your Floral Wall With These:

Designed to cluster naturally, like a wild garden. Choose a flower as your design anchor, then grow your custom floral wall with these companions:

A gift for a real estate agent should look good in a listing photo and just as good in their own front hallway, and the Ceramic Flower Medium Teal 12 manages both without trying too hard. This wall piece holds its color true under ordinary daylight and under the harsher light photographers actually use, which matters more than most gift buyers realize. Somewhere in Chive's own records sits an entirely separate teal medium flower from an earlier batch, a coincidence nobody has fully explained, but Medium Teal 12 shows no confusion about which flower it is. Each piece is shaped by hand at Chive Ceramics Studio, one bloom at a time, so no two teals ever land identically. A single wall screw holds it in place, and there is no water no maintenance ever required once it's up. Brooklyn Botanic Garden keeps a rotating case of Chive wall pieces near its own front desk, teal included, steps from living plants that demand considerably more from their owners.

How to hang & display

Wall hanging

Works on drywall, plaster, or wood panelling. Drive a small screw at a slight upward angle, leaving the head proud of the wall. Slide the keyhole slot on the back over the screw head, adjust to level. Sits flush — no visible hardware.

No stud? No problem. A drywall anchor rated for the weight works fine.

Displaying a collection

Lay everything out on the floor first. Start with your anchor piece, build outward. Keep 2–3 inches between each piece and aim for the centre of the whole arrangement to land around eye level. Use painter's tape on the wall to map positions before committing to any screws.

Table & shelf display: Equally beautiful propped on a shelf, mantle, or side table. Pair with books, candles, or a small pot.

Teal, Mid-Sized

The glaze test for this teal ran longer than anyone budgeted for, mostly because the color kept looking slightly different depending on whether it was tested near the kiln, near the loading dock, or near the one window in the studio that actually gets afternoon sun. We are told this is normal. We do not entirely believe that. What we do know is that this particular teal survived three separate rounds of "does this actually read as teal or is it secretly blue," a debate that got more heated than the subject matter probably warranted, given that the flower does not care and never will. It settled the argument by simply looking correct in every room we tried it in, which is more than most of us manage. There's a version of this exact shape sitting a few positions over in the lineup, glazed differently enough that only the studio would notice the family resemblance immediately. We like that neither one apologizes for existing alongside the other. Mounted, it does the one job asked of it: hold its color, hold its shape, hold still. It has never once needed watering, feeding, or an opinion about drainage, which puts it several steps ahead of most things people are given as gifts.

Succulent Blue ceramic wall flower styled on wall — Classic Collection — Chive Studio Toronto

Part of the Classic Collection

The Classic collection never bothered chasing whatever trend was passing through — a rose that looked correct in 1974 and will look correct in 2074, glazed in colors that refuse to change. Every piece trades novelty for something worth keeping. This teal went through rounds of testing under three separate light sources before anyone on staff trusted it as genuinely teal rather than blue.

Two Ways to Display

Every Chive ceramic flower works two ways: mounted vertically as a growing gallery wall, or laid flat as a no-water tablescape. Mounted, the Medium Teal 12 groups naturally with other cool-toned pieces into a gallery wall that reads as considered rather than random. Laid flat, it works as a small tablescape anchor beside candles or a stack of books, holding its color under either lighting situation without shifting even slightly toward blue or gray.

Colourful ceramic planters with saucers arranged on concrete outdoor steps, each planted with a different houseplant.

Complete the Look

Set the Large Tika Ceramic Pot and Saucer on the same shelf as Medium Teal 12, and the pairing works as a color test as much as a display. A saturated houseplant will pick up warmth reflected off the teal glaze, while a paler variety reads cooler and more contained beside it. Neither option is wrong. The glaze just gives you a fixed point to react against when choosing.

Chive artisan hand-made ceramic flower petal without molds with keyholes for hanging

Neither the Smallest Nor the Largest Teal

Chive Ceramics Studio has been making flowers that don't need watering since 2004, on the theory that a good gift shouldn't come with homework attached. Every glaze recipe gets tested under studio light, daylight, and the specific unflattering light of wherever the piece will actually end up living, because a color that only works under one bulb isn't finished yet. The teal family alone has gone through enough rounds of testing that "close enough" stopped being an acceptable answer years ago. Each piece still comes out of small batches, checked individually rather than approved as a group and shipped on faith. The studio hand-forms every flower here, one at a time, which is slower than it needs to be and exactly as slow as it should be.

Frequently asked questions

How does a Ceramic Flower Medium Teal 12 hang on the wall?

A Ceramic Flower Medium Teal 12 hangs on the wall with a single screw, no bracket, no leveling app required. The teal reads the same whether it's centered over a couch or crammed onto a gallery wall next to six other things fighting for attention. It won't lean, drift, or quietly rotate overnight the way real flowers somehow manage to. It just stays.

Is a Medium Teal good gift for real estate agent?

A Medium Teal makes a genuinely good gift for a real estate agent because it survives showings, open houses, and the general chaos of someone who is never actually in their own home. It photographs consistently under listing lights, unlike almost every plant ever gifted to someone in this profession. It also never needs a watering schedule they won't keep.

Is a Medium Teal a good teal wall decor?

A Medium Teal works well as teal wall decor because the glaze holds its exact shade regardless of the room's lighting, which is genuinely more than most paint swatches manage to pull off. It pairs easily with warmer neutrals without fighting for dominance. It's teal that behaves itself. Rare, honestly.

Does a Medium Teal 12 work as classic home decor?

A Medium Teal 12 works as classic home decor because it doesn't chase a passing color trend the way a lot of "statement" pieces quietly do. It reads as considered rather than seasonal, the kind of piece that still looks right in a decade. Nothing about it needs replacing on a schedule.

Does a Ceramic Flower Medium Teal 12 ship in a gift box?

Yes — a Ceramic Flower Medium Teal 12 ships in a Chive gift box, ready to hand over without a detour through wrapping paper you'll definitely tear wrong. The box itself holds up to shipping without denting the piece inside. No assembly, no packing peanuts, no drama. Just open it.

What is a good gift for a real estate agent?

A good gift for a real estate agent should survive being left in an unwatered office for weeks at a stretch, which rules out almost every plant option available. The Medium Teal 12 handles that scenario without complaint, since it was never alive to begin with. It just sits there, looking correct. That's the whole pitch.

How long does a medium teal 12 last versus a fresh one?

A Medium Teal 12 lasts indefinitely, unlike a fresh teal-toned bloom, which realistically holds up for five to seven days before the petals start making decisions on their own. There's no vase water to change, no compost pile in its future. It simply continues looking the way it did on delivery day. Forever, basically.

Is a Medium Teal 12 truly worth buying, not just decent?

A Medium Teal 12 is worth buying rather than merely decent because it solves an actual problem — the universal difficulty of buying flowers for someone who travels constantly or forgets to water anything. It's not a consolation-prize version of a real flower. It's a different, better-suited object entirely. Worth it.
