BIRTH FLOWER COLLECTION
June Birth Flower - Rose
June's flower. Ryan made the first one.
Description
June birth flower ceramic gifts have the rose to work with, which is either the most famous flower in the world or the most over-given one, depending on whether the recipient has a June birthday or a Valentine's Day history. This version is yellow. Kiln-fired by hand in Toronto. Three inches. The yellow rose has been a symbol of friendship and joy for several centuries and has not once asked to be in a vase. This is the wall version.
June birthday gift for someone who has received every other rose
The Birth Flower Collection was launched because Chive looked at what was available for birth flower gifting — Victorian prints and plastic — and decided this was not good enough. Ryan had exhausted the entire Chive product catalog as birthday gifts for his girlfriend over a decade. Todd taught him ceramics. He made her a rose on the first attempt. She called it her favorite gift she had ever received because he had made it himself. The yellow ceramic rose carries this logic forward: a rose made with intention, in a glaze specific to June, sized for a wall rather than a counter that needs the water changed every three days.
Chive Studio ceramic flowers are stocked in the gift shops of the Chicago Botanic Garden, the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, and the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh. Chive has exhibited at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for 13 consecutive years, receiving the 5-star booth award — the highest rating given. The Birth Flower Collection was designed in Toronto, made by hand since 1999. No command strips. No velcro. One screw and 90 seconds.
June birthday gift ideas that outlast the bouquet
A yellow rose in ceramic ships in a Chive gift box, requires no water, no vase, and no follow-up conversation about whether it made it to the weekend. It hangs with one screw in 90 seconds. It is the June birthday rose that is still yellow on the wall in twenty years, by which point it is either a sentimental detail or a design choice, and either reading is correct.

How to Hang Ceramic Flowers?
One discovers these flowers, each bearing a secret: a tiny keyhole nestled in the back, waiting for its destiny. The ritual feels almost predetermined - reaching into that dusty jar of orphaned screws, the ones squirreled away over countless home projects. Those odd bits of metal, collected like precious coins, finally finding their purpose. A quick twist of the drill, and there hangs beauty, supported by hardware whose previous life remains a mystery.
