How to Plant Foxglove from Seed

When to Plant Seeds

  • Indoors: Start seeds 8-10 weeks before the last frost.
  • Outdoors: Sow directly in late spring or early fall.

Seed Preparation

  • Foxglove seeds are tiny and do not require stratification.
  • For best germination, mix seeds with fine sand to aid even distribution.

Sowing the Seeds

Direct: Prepare the soil by loosening and removing debris. Lightly scatter seeds over the surface and gently press them into the soil. Keep the area moist until germination occurs. Once seedlings are a few inches tall, thin them to 12-18 inches apart.
