Build Your Floral Wall With These:

Designed to cluster naturally, like a wild garden. Choose a flower as your design anchor, then grow your custom floral wall with these companions:

Daisy flower meaning is mostly a matter of temperament: sunny, then raining, then sunny again, and finding all of it interesting rather than exhausting. This orange yellow daisy doesn't consider the forecast inconsistent — it considers it eventful, which is what optimists call the weather that would finish off anyone else. Two dozen narrow petals fan out from a raised center disc, each one individually shaped so the piece never reads as stamped from a mold. Chive's artisans shape every petal by hand, then glaze the piece in a warm enough yellow to survive an actual grey April, mounted flat regardless of what's happening outside the window. Chicago Botanic Garden has spent decades studying which flowers hold their color through unreliable spring weather, and the daisy sits near the top of that list. This one keeps its color no matter what April decides to do. Chive has believed in easy optimism since 2004.

How to hang & display

Wall hanging

Works on drywall, plaster, or wood panelling. Drive a small screw at a slight upward angle, leaving the head proud of the wall. Slide the keyhole slot on the back over the screw head, adjust to level. Sits flush — no visible hardware.

No stud? No problem. A drywall anchor rated for the weight works fine.

Displaying a collection

Lay everything out on the floor first. Start with your anchor piece, build outward. Keep 2–3 inches between each piece and aim for the centre of the whole arrangement to land around eye level. Use painter's tape on the wall to map positions before committing to any screws.

Table & shelf display: Equally beautiful propped on a shelf, mantle, or side table. Pair with books, candles, or a small pot.

Optimistic About the Forecast

April can't make up its mind, and it's decided that's a personality trait worth keeping. Sunny, then raining, then sunny again, then the umbrella's back in the car because that's just where it lives now. Most people would call that inconsistent. The daisy calls it interesting, which is what optimists call the weather that would exhaust anyone else. This orange yellow daisy carries that same relentless good mood onto a wall — two dozen narrow petals fanning out from a raised center disc, each one individually shaped so the piece never reads as stamped from a single mold. Chive's artisans shape every petal by hand, then glaze the whole piece in a yellow warm enough to hold its nerve through an actually grey April day. It mounts flat, regardless of what's happening outside the window that particular hour. It doesn't check the forecast before deciding how to feel about the day. It just keeps its color, steady and a little too optimistic, no matter what April throws at it that week. It doesn't need the day to cooperate to look finished, which is more than most actual April weather can manage. Most flowers don't get asked to do that. This one does it without complaint.

The Birth Flower Collection

The Birth Flower collection built its logic around one fact everyone knows about themselves — the month they were born — turned into a bloom claiming that meaning for centuries. Every piece trades a generic gift for one already assigned. Two dozen individually shaped petals fan out around the raised center disc, built to hold their exact color regardless of what April's notoriously unreliable weather decides to do outside that particular week.

Two Ways to Display It

Every Chive ceramic flower works two ways: mounted vertically as a growing gallery wall, or laid flat as a no-water tablescape. An Orange Yellow Daisy doesn't need company to make sense on a bathroom wall, though it slots easily into a growing hallway display if more birth months eventually join it. There's no water or maintenance involved in either scenario — it mounts flat and gathers exactly zero dust that ever needs wiping down.

Large Tika Ceramic Pot Orange

April is the month everyone buys a plant they're not entirely ready to commit to yet. Orange is a fair match for that specific flavor of optimism, sitting near the daisy on a windowsill without asking too many hard questions about last month's casualties. Something's usually still alive in it by May. Something usually isn't. The pot doesn't keep score either way.

Twenty-Four Petals, Counted Every Time

Every flower Chive makes starts from the same stubborn premise the studio opened with back in 2004: optimism deserves better materials than a gift shop usually bothers giving it. Getting twenty-four individually curved petals right, by hand, in small batches, takes longer than rushing one out a day early — and that's always been the point, not an inconvenience to work around. Nothing coming out of this workshop is mass-produced from a single repeating mold. It's built the slower way on purpose, for roughly the same reason a daisy finds unpredictable weather interesting instead of exhausting: the harder route is usually the one that actually holds up over time. That's the whole approach, unchanged since the first batch left the workshop.

Frequently asked questions

What is a unique gift for an April-born best friend?

A unique gift for an April-born best friend should match the personality the month actually tends to produce — someone who finds sun-then-rain-then-sun interesting rather than exhausting. This orange yellow daisy is built for exactly that kind of temperament. It's not a candle. It's the flower version of someone who'd genuinely enjoy a wrong forecast. It's not a mug.

What does a daisy mean as an April birthday gift?

A daisy means loyal love and true friendship as an April birthday gift, which happens to describe the specific kind of friend April tends to produce — steady no matter what the weather's doing that particular hour. It's a flower assignment that actually fits the month it got stuck with. Not every birth month gets quite that lucky a pairing.

Is an Orange Yellow Daisy a good 8th anniversary gift?

An Orange Yellow Daisy makes a good 8th anniversary gift, since bronze pairs naturally with this saturated warm yellow without ever looking like a matching set bought on purpose. Eight years in, a gift shouldn't look coordinated so much as chosen deliberately. That distinction matters more than most people admit by year eight. This one reads as chosen, not merely assigned.

What is a unique gift for a best friend who has everything?

A unique gift for a best friend who has everything usually needs to skip whatever categories they've already filled twice — no more candles, no more tote bags cluttering a closet. A ceramic daisy sidesteps all of it by not really competing with anything already sitting on their shelf. Most 'gift for someone who has everything' options never actually clear that bar.

Does the April birth flower ship ready for Christmas gifting?

The April birth flower ships ready for Christmas gifting too, not only birthdays — a birth-month flower doubles as a year-round option rather than a once-a-year purchase. It arrives boxed and ready to hand over regardless of season or occasion. Nobody has to remember it's an April-only thing. It just works, whenever it's given.

Does a ceramic daisy work as bathroom wall decor?

A ceramic daisy works well as bathroom wall decor, since the glaze holds up fine against steam and humidity in a way paper art never quite manages long-term. The orange yellow reads warm against most tile colors without needing the whole room built around it first. That's where it gets seen every single morning without fail. Mount it across from the mirror.

Is a ceramic daisy a longer-lasting keepsake than a birth flower charm?

A ceramic daisy is a longer-lasting keepsake than a birth flower charm, mostly because a charm eventually falls off a bracelet clasp somewhere between the car and the front door. This one stays exactly where it's mounted, visible daily instead of lost somewhere in a jewelry box. There's no clasp involved anywhere, so there's nothing left to lose.

Is a ceramic daisy a good graduation gift for a spring graduate?

A ceramic daisy makes a good graduation gift for a spring graduate, since April graduates rarely get anything birth-month-specific beyond generic congratulations merchandise off a shelf. This ties the actual month directly to the actual milestone instead of defaulting to a mug printed with a quote. It's specific in a season absolutely flooded with generic gifts for everyone.
