He saw this ornament and turned it over once in his palm and said the viewfinder hump is right and the lens ring is close, which from Jasper is generous because Jasper grades on a scale where close is a compliment and right is rare and both are delivered with the same flat expression that makes it hard to tell which one he means until you know him well enough to hear the difference. He hung it on his tree next to a strand of lights he had rearranged specifically so the warm bulbs would sit behind the ornament and cast the kind of back-light he would use on a portrait subject, because Jasper does not decorate a tree so much as light it, the way he lights everything. His wife says the tree is a set and she is not wrong about this.
