Build Your Floral Wall With These:

Designed to cluster naturally, like a wild garden. Choose a flower as your design anchor, then grow your custom floral wall with these companions:

A gift for mom from daughter carries a specific kind of pressure, since it has to say something a card alone can't, and this Blush Pink Tundra Carnation was built to hold that weight on a wall for years rather than a week on a counter. The petals carry a soft, cool-toned blush that photographs well in nearly any room in the house. Chive's artisans shape every layer of the carnation by hand, building its dense, ruffled edge until it holds its shape permanently rather than wilting after a few days in water. It mounts flat with a single screw, requiring no vase, sunlight, or maintenance of any kind going forward. The Art Gallery of Ontario has built its ceramics collection around exactly this kind of hand-finished craftsmanship, the same standard Chive holds itself to on every flower. A grocery store bouquet is gone within the week. This one is still on the wall next Mother's Day.

How to hang & display

Wall hanging

Works on drywall, plaster, or wood panelling. Drive a small screw at a slight upward angle, leaving the head proud of the wall. Slide the keyhole slot on the back over the screw head, adjust to level. Sits flush — no visible hardware.

No stud? No problem. A drywall anchor rated for the weight works fine.

Displaying a collection

Lay everything out on the floor first. Start with your anchor piece, build outward. Keep 2–3 inches between each piece and aim for the centre of the whole arrangement to land around eye level. Use painter's tape on the wall to map positions before committing to any screws.

Table & shelf display: Equally beautiful propped on a shelf, mantle, or side table. Pair with books, candles, or a small pot.

The Cold Outlier in a Warm Family

A gift from a daughter to her mom carries a specific kind of pressure a card alone can't absorb, and I wanted this piece to hold some of that weight instead. The blush I chose here is cooler-toned than most of our pinks, closer to something you'd actually see on a real tundra carnation than the warmer peach and rose shades elsewhere in the France line. Getting the ruffled edge right took extra attention, since tundra carnations have a denser, more compressed petal structure than a standard carnation, and it's easy to lose that density if you rush the layering. I mounted this one with a single screw, on purpose, because a gift for mom shouldn't come with assembly instructions attached to it. What I actually think about, working on pieces like this one, is the version of the gift that's still on the wall next year, and the year after that, long after whatever bouquet arrived alongside a card gets thrown out. A grocery store arrangement says something true for about a week. This one says the same thing indefinitely, mounted, permanent, and exactly the color it was the day it arrived. I think about my own mother every time we ship one of these, and I still owe her a better gift than this.

Designed to Share the Same Room

Part of the France Collection

The France collection inherited its manners from countryside kitchens that never apologized for a chipped teacup or a crooked shutter — faded rose, sun-bleached poppy, a peony that's seen a few decades. Every piece trades polish for something already lived-in. Tundra runs noticeably cooler than the rest of the carnation family, a deliberate frost-toned outlier in a warm collection. That same rosette shape shows up again, better named this time.

Two Ways to Display

Every Chive ceramic flower works two ways: mounted vertically as a growing gallery wall, or laid flat as a no-water tablescape. The sun-warmed glaze on this carnation shifts subtly depending on which direction light enters the room, a detail no photograph fully captures. Laid flat on a table, that same shifting color becomes the surface's quiet anchor rather than a static object sitting there. It never wilts by whatever date it was actually bought for.

Complete the Look

The Svek Ceramic Pot's clean, simple lines suit this carnation's cooler blush without competing against it, a quiet pairing for a gift meant for someone's mom rather than a statement piece for a gallery wall. Both were built in-house, just aimed at completely different jobs on completely different shelves. A single trailing plant finishes the look, and neither piece asks for much upkeep beyond that.

Frost-Toned, Deliberately

This studio's founding goal, back in 2004, hasn't really changed since: make something a person can give as a gift without worrying it'll be dead within two weeks on someone else's watch. Twenty years later, that's still the entire premise, just carried out with far more precision than our earliest pieces ever managed. Every petal is shaped by hand in-house, one at a time, by people who debate ruffle depth far more seriously than is strictly reasonable for anyone to do. We still believe, twenty years in, that the best gifts ask nothing at all of the person receiving them, not water, not regular attention, not even a windowsill with genuinely decent light.

Frequently asked questions

How does a Blush Pink Tundra Carnation hang on the wall?

Ceramic wall flowers don't need command strips to hang for tundra carnations or anything else in the line — a single keyhole slot and one screw does the job completely. The Blush Pink Tundra Carnation mounts flush to the wall in about a minute. A screw holds more securely over time than adhesive strips typically manage.

What is a gift for mom she will keep for years?

A gift for mom from daughter that she'll keep on her wall for years needs to outlast the sentiment behind a card alone, and this carnation was built specifically for that job. The cool-toned blush suits most rooms without clashing against existing colors already on the walls. Visible, not tucked in a drawer.

Is a Blush Pink Tundra Carnation a good Mother's Day gift?

Yes, a ceramic carnation makes a good Mother's Day gift from a daughter, since it stays on display permanently rather than fading within a week like a store-bought bouquet typically does. The blush tone reads as thoughtful without trying too hard. Mother's Day gifts get judged on longevity more than people admit. This one holds up.

What is a Mother's Day gift beyond a candle or bath set?

A Mother's Day gift for mom that isn't a candle or a bath set solves the fairly common problem of giving the same three gift categories every year without much variation. This carnation breaks that pattern entirely while still feeling genuinely considered rather than obligatory or rushed. Moms notice a gift that wasn't last-minute.

What ships inside the box with a Blush Pink Tundra Carnation order?

Yes, it ships in a gift box appropriate for Mother's Day, wrapped and ready to hand over without extra effort on your part beforehand. No assembly beyond a single screw for mounting once the moment actually calls for it. The box stays simple rather than overly decorated or fussy. What's inside is the actual gift, unmistakably.

Does a Blush Pink Tundra Carnation work as classic bedroom decor?

A blush pink ceramic carnation works well as bedroom wall decor in a soft, classic interior, particularly alongside muted neutrals where the cool-toned blush can stand out gently rather than competing with bolder colors. It reads as considered rather than trendy, a quiet color choice rather than a seasonal one. Classic rooms favor exactly this restraint.

How long does a blush pink carnation last versus a fresh one?

A ceramic carnation lasts indefinitely compared to a fresh carnation bought for Mother's Day, which typically wilts within a week or two even with regular care. This piece skips that decline entirely and holds its shape and color permanently. Fresh carnations get unfairly dismissed as disposable. This one refuses that entirely.

Is a ceramic carnation a good retirement gift for a mom?

Yes, a ceramic carnation works as a Mother's Day gift from a daughter who has genuinely tried everything else and landed on "something for the wall" as the final answer. Blush pink keeps things warm without being overly sentimental. Sometimes the simplest answer turns out to be the right one. This is that answer.
