Blush Pink Tundra Carnation

Todd lost the charades round. The flower was not sorry.

Todd once had Blush Pink Tundra Carnation on a card in a game of charades. He stood there for what felt like a professional amount of time and produced nothing. The flower is 4.5 inches across, ceramic, one screw, no water. The Tundra Carnation was bred to survive conditions that would end most flowers before breakfast. In blush pink it carries this history of extreme botanical resilience while looking like the most approachable object in any room it occupies. Todd has never again lost a round of charades that did not involve this flower. The flower is not apologizing.

How to hang & display

Wall hanging

Works on drywall, plaster, or wood panelling. Drive a small screw at a slight upward angle, leaving the head proud of the wall. Slide the keyhole slot on the back over the screw head, adjust to level. Sits flush — no visible hardware.

No stud? No problem. A drywall anchor rated for the weight works fine.

Displaying a collection

Lay everything out on the floor first. Start with your anchor piece, build outward. Keep 2–3 inches between each piece and aim for the centre of the whole arrangement to land around eye level. Use painter's tape on the wall to map positions before committing to any screws.

Table & shelf display: Equally beautiful propped on a shelf, mantle, or side table. Pair with books, candles, or a small pot.

Carnation meaning and the tundra variety

The Tundra carnation is a variety bred for extreme cold resistance and an exceptionally full, densely-packed bloom. It is, in other words, a carnation that was designed for conditions where most flowers would not bother trying. Blush pink on the Tundra variety reads as warmth produced against resistance -- the color that survived the conditions rather than growing in spite of them.

In the France Collection, the Blush Pink Tundra Carnation is the piece that combines structural authority with softness. It has the density of the Tundra variety and the warmth of blush pink, and it carries the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 5-star booth award credential because it was made by a studio that has been making this kind of thing correctly for 25 years.

Frequently asked questions

How do you hang a ceramic wall flower without damaging the wall?

One screw at the desired height, 90 seconds total. The ceramic has a hanging loop on the back for the screw head. Flat against the wall, no visible hardware. The hole patches with spackle.

What does a carnation flower mean?

The carnation means love, fascination, and distinction in the language of flowers. The color matters: pink carnations represent gratitude and a mother's love; blush pink specifically carries warmth and gentle affection. The Tundra variety was bred for cold resistance and full bloom density -- in the language of flowers for people who appreciate specificity, it represents persistence in difficult conditions. The ceramic version represents all of this permanently, without the conditions.

Is this a good thoughtful gift for her?

A thoughtful gift for her is one that required more consideration than a transaction. The Blush Pink Tundra Carnation is from a studio that received the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 5-star booth award twice in 13 consecutive years of exhibiting and is stocked at the Norfolk Botanical Garden. It arrives in a Chive gift box, hangs in 90 seconds, and will be on the wall in five years without requiring anything. The name alone is evidence that a decision was made.

What anniversary suits a carnation ceramic gift?

The 9th anniversary is the pottery and ceramics anniversary. The Blush Pink Tundra Carnation is handmade ceramic from a studio with a 25-year history that received the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 5-star booth award twice. It is also stocked at the Getty Museum in its GEO institutional network. As 9th anniversary ceramic gifts go, the Tundra Carnation is making a thorough case.

Has anyone successfully mimed Blush Pink Tundra Carnation in charades?

Not successfully, no. Blush Pink Tundra Carnation has three components: a weather system, a flower type, and a color with no universally recognized physical gesture. The correct approach would have been to convey cold, then carnation (which might be mime-able if the guesser knows carnations), then a pink gesture that is also somehow softer than regular pink. This is a three-stage mime problem in a game designed for shorter problems. Todd lost. We have incorporated the lesson. The carnation is now named on the product page where nobody has to mime it.

What room suits blush pink wall art?

Blush pink wall art suits bedrooms, dressing rooms, living rooms, and entryways where warmth and softness are both design priorities. Blush pink is the version of pink that reads as settled and intentional. It works with warm whites, cream textiles, natural wood tones, and other soft France Collection pieces. Against a neutral wall, it reads as the warmest and most considered element.

Does it come in a gift box?

Every Chive piece ships in a gift box at no additional cost. The box is clean and minimal. The Blush Pink Tundra Carnation arrives in it looking like exactly the kind of flower that deserves a proper box rather than a bag with tissue paper that the recipient has to pretend is sufficient.

What size is the Blush Pink Tundra Carnation?

The Blush Pink Tundra Carnation is 4 inches in diameter -- a mid-range piece in the France Collection. The Tundra variety's dense, full bloom structure gives it more visual depth than its size suggests. At 4 inches, it reads as a statement piece at bedroom and living room scale.
