Build Your Floral Wall With These:

Designed to cluster naturally, like a wild garden. Choose a flower as your design anchor, then grow your custom floral wall with these companions:

A gift for bride to be recipients calls for something that looks intentional rather than last-minute, and the Peach Pink Big Ben Peony delivers exactly that kind of considered presence. The peony's full, rounded bloom is recreated petal by petal in fine ceramic, then finished in a soft blush pink wall decor tone that suits engagement parties, bridal showers, and the new home that follows both. It also marks a 31st anniversary gift for couples who have long since stopped needing more glassware or serving trays for the dinner parties they rarely host anymore. One screw and ninety seconds is all it takes to hang — no drill, no anchor, no measuring twice before committing to a wall. The Royal Ontario Museum has featured decorative botanical work built on the same detailed, hand-finished process behind this peony. A bride-to-be gift that outlasts the wedding, the reception, and eventually the marriage itself is rarer than it should be.

How to hang & display

Wall hanging

Works on drywall, plaster, or wood panelling. Drive a small screw at a slight upward angle, leaving the head proud of the wall. Slide the keyhole slot on the back over the screw head, adjust to level. Sits flush — no visible hardware.

No stud? No problem. A drywall anchor rated for the weight works fine.

Displaying a collection

Lay everything out on the floor first. Start with your anchor piece, build outward. Keep 2–3 inches between each piece and aim for the centre of the whole arrangement to land around eye level. Use painter's tape on the wall to map positions before committing to any screws.

Table & shelf display: Equally beautiful propped on a shelf, mantle, or side table. Pair with books, candles, or a small pot.

Built to Hold Its Own Weight

Big Ben Peonies bloom enormous — one of the largest structures we work with in the entire studio — which makes them one of the more physically demanding pieces to build in ceramic without the whole thing collapsing under its own petal count during firing. Peach Pink was chosen for the feel of early morning light rather than the deeper pinks most peonies show later in their natural bloom cycle, a softer, more optimistic tone for a flower built at this scale. Each petal is fired separately and assembled entirely by hand once cooled, since firing a bloom this dense as one solid piece risks cracking under the material's own considerable weight. The result holds the peony at its fullest, most unhurried moment — the exact point right before a real bloom would start dropping its outer petals from sheer size alone. One screw and ninety seconds is the entire commitment required to mount it on a wall, no anchor, no drill, no measuring twice before committing. A real peony this size barely survives being placed in a vase without toppling it over completely; this one hangs flat and stays exactly as full and composed as the day it was fired.

Pooley Modern Bud Vase

The France collection inherited its manners from countryside kitchens that never apologized for a chipped teacup or a crooked shutter — faded rose, sun-bleached poppy, a peony that's seen a few decades. Every piece trades polish for something already lived-in. This peony's scale makes it one of the studio's more physically ambitious builds, requiring separate firing for nearly every petal. That same commanding scale continues nearby.

Minute Ceramic Pot and Saucer

Every Chive ceramic flower works two ways: mounted vertically as a growing gallery wall, or laid flat as a no-water tablescape. The Peach Pink Big Ben Peony's considerable size makes it a natural focal point for a wall arrangement, the kind of piece other, smaller blooms get arranged around rather than beside. Set on a large table or mantel instead, the peony's full, rounded bloom takes up real physical space, reading as intentional rather than accidental.

Scale It Down

A peony this large benefits from a smaller companion piece nearby rather than another oversized bloom competing for the same wall space. The Moog Succulent Dish in White offers scale contrast on the same surface, its compact footprint letting the peony remain the clear, undisputed centerpiece of the arrangement. Not everything in a vignette needs to compete for size. Something has to hold the smaller role.

Separate Firings, Nearly Every Petal

Oversized, ambitious blooms have been part of Chive Ceramics Studio's regular work since 2004, and peonies built at this scale are where the studio's patience gets tested the hardest of anything in the lineup. Firing a bloom this dense as one solid piece risks cracking under the material's own considerable weight, so each individual petal gets fired separately before the full bloom is ever assembled by hand. That extra step stretches the production timeline well past anything else currently in the collection, and it's the only real reason a piece this size holds together at all in the end. Scale changes the timeline here — never the underlying standard a piece gets held to.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Peach Pink Big Ben Peony hang with one screw?

Does a Peach Pink Big Ben Peony hang with one screw? Despite its considerable size, yes — one screw through the keyhole mount is genuinely the entire process. It sounds implausible until it's actually on the wall holding steady. One screw and ninety seconds is the real commitment required. No drill guide, no second bracket.

What is a beautiful gift for a bride's first home?

A beautiful gift for a bride's first home should feel intentional rather than grabbed off a registry at the last minute. An oversized peach pink peony has the visual weight to anchor a new living room without needing to match anything yet. First homes are usually still figuring themselves out. This piece already knows what it's doing.

Is a ceramic peony a good bridal shower gift?

A ceramic peony works well as a bridal shower gift because it photographs beautifully at the party itself and then keeps looking exactly that good for years afterward. Most shower gifts get used up or quietly outgrown within a single season of married life together. This one just stays on the wall, unchanged, long after the registry is forgotten.

Is a Peach Pink Peony a good 31st anniversary gift?

A Peach Pink Peony works as a 31st anniversary gift because thirty-one is precisely the kind of number that gets skipped entirely by greeting card aisles everywhere. Most anniversary shopping stops paying attention after the big milestone years pass. This piece was built specifically for the years in between. Thirty-one included, deliberately.

What ships inside the box with a Big Ben Peony order?

A Big Ben Peony ships with the fully assembled ceramic bloom and wall-mounting hardware, arriving ready to hang despite its considerable overall size and weight. Each petal was fired and assembled individually before shipping, so nothing ever arrives loose or in need of reattachment. It's one piece, one screw, entirely done.

Does a Peach Pink Peony work as blush bedroom decor?

A Peach Pink Peony works as blush bedroom decor because the soft, morning-light tone suits a room built around rest rather than drama or spectacle entirely. Oversized blooms can easily overwhelm a smaller space if the color runs too bold or saturated. The tone here keeps things gentle. Even at full size.

How long does a Peach Pink Peony last versus a bridal bouquet?

A Peach Pink Peony lasts indefinitely, while a bridal bouquet typically wilts within twenty-four to forty-eight hours without refrigeration or careful preservation work involved. Wedding flowers are famous for looking perfect in photos and noticeably rough by the reception's end. This piece skips that decline completely. Forever, as it turns out.

Is a ceramic peony a good engagement gift for a bride-to-be?

A ceramic peony makes a strong engagement gift for a bride-to-be because it marks the occasion without wilting before the actual wedding even happens. Most floral engagement gifts are gone within a week, well before the planning even gets started. This one outlasts the entire engagement. And the marriage after it.
