Build Your Floral Wall With These:

Designed to cluster naturally, like a wild garden. Choose a flower as your design anchor, then grow your custom floral wall with these companions:

Pink rose meaning gets debated constantly online, but this Peach Pink Solar Carnation sidesteps the argument entirely by committing to its own color story instead of borrowing a rose's symbolism secondhand. The bloom's sun-warmed peach shifts subtly depending on the light hitting the wall, a detail that took real trial and error to get right in ceramic glaze. Chive's artisans shape every petal by hand, building the carnation's characteristically ruffled edge layer by layer until it holds its form permanently, with no wilting to plan around. It mounts flat in minutes, without the water, sun, or vase a fresh carnation demands before wilting within the week. Chive has exhibited at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for fourteen consecutive years running, winning the show's 5-star booth award twice in that stretch. Carnations get dismissed as the gas-station flower far too often. This one was built to argue otherwise, permanently and on a wall.

How to hang & display

Wall hanging

Works on drywall, plaster, or wood panelling. Drive a small screw at a slight upward angle, leaving the head proud of the wall. Slide the keyhole slot on the back over the screw head, adjust to level. Sits flush — no visible hardware.

No stud? No problem. A drywall anchor rated for the weight works fine.

Displaying a collection

Lay everything out on the floor first. Start with your anchor piece, build outward. Keep 2–3 inches between each piece and aim for the centre of the whole arrangement to land around eye level. Use painter's tape on the wall to map positions before committing to any screws.

Table & shelf display: Equally beautiful propped on a shelf, mantle, or side table. Pair with books, candles, or a small pot.

Warmer Wherever the Light Hits

Carnations get treated like the discount flower, the one you grab at a gas station when you forgot the actual occasion, and I think that reputation is mostly unearned. I wanted to make a carnation that argued back. Solar felt like the right name for this one — the idea that this particular bloom has spent real time in the sun, long enough to know something about heat and patience that a hothouse rose never has to learn. The peach came from layering warm and cool glazes in sequence, which took considerably more kiln time than a single-glaze piece but produced a color that shifts slightly depending on the light hitting the wall, the same way a real carnation's color deepens toward the edges. The ruffled petal edge is carnation-specific, denser and more compressed than any other bloom shape we've built for this collection, and it took several failed attempts before the clay held that texture without cracking during the second firing. Carnations deserve better than the reputation they've been handed. This one was built specifically to make that argument, permanently, from a wall instead of a gas station bucket. I'll take a well-made carnation over a mediocre rose any day of the week, and I'm fairly confident this piece has converted a few skeptics since we started making it.

Part of the France Collection

The France collection inherited its manners from countryside kitchens that never apologized for a chipped teacup or a crooked shutter — faded rose, sun-bleached poppy, a peony that's seen a few decades. Every piece trades polish for something already lived-in. Solar earned its name honestly, the glaze warming toward true orange wherever direct light happens to hit it. A more textured bloom rounds out the same palette.

Two Ways to Display

Every Chive ceramic flower works two ways: mounted vertically as a growing gallery wall, or laid flat as a no-water tablescape. The sun-warmed glaze on this carnation shifts subtly depending on which direction light enters the room, a detail no photograph fully captures. Laid flat on a table, that same shifting color becomes the surface's quiet anchor rather than a static object sitting there. It never wilts by whatever date it was actually bought for.

Complete the Look

The Triceratops Ceramic Plant Pot pairs unexpectedly well with this carnation's sun-warmed peach, bringing a little levity to a piece that also happens to carry this batch's Chelsea Flower Show credential. Both pieces were finished by hand under one roof, aimed at entirely different purposes on a shelf. A small succulent inside completes a pairing that shouldn't work as well as it actually does.

The Glaze That Earned Its Name

Chive Ceramics Studio was founded in 2004 on a fairly simple observation: fresh flowers look beautiful for about four days and then quietly become a small, sad chore. Two decades later, we've built an entire practice around hand-shaping every petal instead of mass-producing anything, which keeps output slow but keeps every single piece looking distinct from the next. We're still solving that original four-day problem today, one glaze test at a time, twenty years and countless kiln batches after we first started trying to fix it. Every flower that leaves this building was touched by a real person before it reached anyone's wall, which is the entire reason any of it looks convincing up close rather than mass-produced.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Peach Pink Solar Carnation hang with one screw?

A ceramic wall flower hangs from a single keyhole slot on the back, secured with one screw, no additional hardware or wire kit needed. The Peach Pink Solar Carnation mounts flush against nearly any wall in well under a minute once the screw is in place. No separate hanger is required at any point. Leveling takes longer than mounting.

What does a pink flower mean as a romantic gift?

A pink flower means admiration and gratitude as a romantic gift, a gentler read than red's more intense declaration, and it outlasts fresh ones because this carnation was never going to wilt in the first place. The sun-warmed peach glaze holds its tone indefinitely under normal indoor light. Meaning and permanence rarely come in the same gift.

Is a ceramic carnation a meaningful 1st anniversary gift?

Yes, a ceramic carnation is a meaningful 1st anniversary gift, particularly for the paper milestone, since ceramic quietly outlasts paper by every practical measure. It signals a gift chosen for its longevity rather than tradition for tradition's sake. First anniversaries set a tone for the ones after it. This one sets a good one.

What is a Valentine's gift that does not wilt by February?

A Valentine's Day gift for her that doesn't wilt by February fifteenth solves the actual problem with most cut flowers purchased for the holiday: they're gone within a week, often sooner given how much handling happens before Valentine's Day deliveries arrive. This carnation skips that timeline completely. Still there in March.

What ships inside the box with a Peach Pink Solar Carnation order?

Yes, this is a good gift under fifty dollars, competitive with a decent bouquet that would wilt within the week regardless of the price paid for it. You're getting a piece that lasts indefinitely for roughly the same cost as flowers that don't survive past day five. The math favors permanence here pretty clearly, and consistently.

Does a peach pink ceramic carnation work as romantic bedroom wall decor?

A peach pink ceramic carnation works well as romantic bedroom wall decor, especially against warmer neutrals where the sun-warmed glaze can stand out clearly without competing against other colors already in the room. It reads as considered rather than default or expected, a deliberate warm note rather than an afterthought. Warmth wins over stark contrast here.

How long does a peach pink carnation last versus a fresh one?

A ceramic carnation lasts indefinitely compared to a fresh carnation in a Valentine bouquet, which typically holds up a week or two at best even with regular water changes. This piece skips that decline entirely and stays exactly as glazed. Fresh carnations get dismissed as the disposable flower for a reason. This one simply isn't.

Is a ceramic carnation a good Valentine's Day gift for mom?

Yes, a ceramic carnation works as a 1st anniversary gift for someone who tried to order flowers online and received herbs by mistake, since it removes the entire possibility of a delivery error going forward. Peach pink keeps things romantic without complication. First anniversaries deserve a gift that actually arrives as intended. This one does, permanently.
