Build Your Floral Wall With These:

Designed to cluster naturally, like a wild garden. Choose a flower as your design anchor, then grow your custom floral wall with these companions:

Wabi sabi wall art asks for restraint, and the Latte Daffodil delivers restraint before anything else. Daffodils traveled from Europe centuries ago and were given more consideration in Japan than almost anywhere else they've landed, arranged with intention rather than mowed along a roadside. Latte is the color of that consideration: warm, unhurried, closer to tea-stained linen than the bright yellow trumpet most people picture. At 3.5 inches diameter, the flower sits small and quiet on a wall, built for a cluster of several pieces rather than a single dramatic statement. Ceramic petals hold their exact shade indefinitely, with no wilting, no repotting, no seasonal decline to manage year after year. Longwood Gardens has cultivated daffodil varieties for generations, tracking exactly the kind of subtle color range this glaze was built to echo carefully. The daffodil, once ignored on a roadside somewhere, now gets exactly the attention it deserves permanently.

How to hang & display

Wall hanging

Works on drywall, plaster, or wood panelling. Drive a small screw at a slight upward angle, leaving the head proud of the wall. Slide the keyhole slot on the back over the screw head, adjust to level. Sits flush — no visible hardware.

No stud? No problem. A drywall anchor rated for the weight works fine.

Displaying a collection

Lay everything out on the floor first. Start with your anchor piece, build outward. Keep 2–3 inches between each piece and aim for the centre of the whole arrangement to land around eye level. Use painter's tape on the wall to map positions before committing to any screws.

Table & shelf display: Equally beautiful propped on a shelf, mantle, or side table. Pair with books, candles, or a small pot.

Finally, the Right Room

Daffodils have a strange relationship with attention depending on where they happen to grow. In England they line motorway embankments and nobody so much as slows the car down. Somewhere else, that same flower gets arranged with actual consideration -- placed, not just planted, given the kind of thought most flowers in most countries never receive in their entire blooming life. Latte is the color that attention produces: warm, unhurried, closer to steeped tea than the usual bright trumpet yellow everyone pictures when someone says daffodil. I like that this piece skips the argument entirely. It does not need to convince anyone it deserves a second look, because the color already did that work before the shape got involved. Small enough to cluster three or four together without crowding a wall, it rewards exactly the kind of patient arrangement the original flower kept missing out on elsewhere. No motorway embankment. No indifference. Just a flower finally given the setting it always should have had, permanently, without needing anyone to keep watering it or replacing it come next spring. The petals hold their shape exactly as fired, with no risk of the yellow eventually fading toward the ditch-side version nobody bothered to notice in the first place. It waited a long time for this. It is not going anywhere now.

Part of the Japan Collection

The Japan collection learned its patience from rooms built around one object instead of a crowded shelf — an off-center bloom, an asymmetrical bract, a glaze left looking unfinished. Every piece trades abundance for one flower a room needs. Latte's warmth comes from restraint rather than brightness, a quieter version of the usual trumpet yellow. A boldly colored peony picks up where this one leaves off.

Two Ways to Display

Every Chive ceramic flower works two ways: mounted vertically as a growing gallery wall, or laid flat as a no-water tablescape. Group three or four Latte Daffodils on a single wall for the patient, considered arrangement the flower rarely receives anywhere else. Given a console instead, a single piece works quietly as an accent, its warm tea-toned color needing no vase, no water change, and no seasonal swap when the actual season eventually turns over.

Complete the Look

A cluster of Latte Daffodils looks best with something real nearby to prove the arrangement was intentional rather than accidental. The Minute Ceramic Pot in bronze white brings a warm, understated companion color that will not fight the daffodil's own quiet palette for attention. Its built-in saucer catches drainage cleanly, so whatever gets planted underneath does not become a console's problem by the second week. One piece needs no water at all. The other one, just occasionally. Shop the Minute Ceramic Pot 5 Inch Bronze White.

About Chive Ceramics Studio

A studio built around permanent flowers has to get comfortable with a lot of temporary failure first. That has been true at Chive since the doors opened in 2004, and it remains true now, two decades and countless discarded glaze tests later on. Most color attempts never leave the building; only the rare ones that hold up permanently get to. The founding logic never involved reproducing nature exactly, since nature's whole arrangement includes wilting eventually, on a schedule nobody can really negotiate with. The better logic isolated whichever detail made a bloom worth a second glance, then kept only that one part, forever, without asking anyone to remember a watering routine at all.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Latte Daffodil hang on the wall?

The Latte Daffodil hangs directly on a wall using a single nail through its reinforced back mount, with no wire or frame required. It sits flat against drywall or plaster the way a piece of art would, rather than needing a shelf or vase to display properly. Once mounted, it does not shift or need re-leveling. Installation takes under a minute.

What is a good 48th anniversary gift idea?

A 48th anniversary gift benefits from something with genuine staying power, since round-number tradition mostly runs out well before year 48 -- there is no official gemstone or material assigned this far out. A ceramic piece that holds its exact color indefinitely fills that gap naturally. It reads as considered rather than improvised, which matters more at this stage than most.

Is a ceramic daffodil a good 48th anniversary gift?

Yes -- a ceramic daffodil works well as a 48th anniversary gift precisely because there is no traditional material assigned to that year, leaving room for something meaningful on its own terms. The Latte Daffodil offers permanence in place of tradition, holding its shape and color for as long as it hangs. That kind of longevity suits a milestone this far into a marriage.

Does a daffodil work as wabi sabi wall art?

A daffodil works well as wabi sabi wall art because the aesthetic values restraint and quiet imperfection over anything showy or symmetrical. The Latte Daffodil's warm, muted color and small scale fit that philosophy directly, avoiding the bright trumpet yellow most people associate with the flower. It reads as considered rather than decorative. That distinction is the entire point of wabi sabi.

Does the Latte Daffodil ship in a gift box?

The Latte Daffodil ships in branded, gift-ready packaging designed to be handed over as-is, without needing tissue paper or a gift bag added separately. It arrives looking like it was packaged with the occasion in mind rather than an afterthought. That detail tends to matter more at a 48th anniversary than people initially expect going in.

What is a good ceramic daffodil gift for woman?

A ceramic daffodil makes a thoughtful retirement gift for a woman entering a slower, more intentional stage of life, since the piece itself never needs tending, watering, or seasonal replacing. The Latte Daffodil's warm, unhurried color echoes that same unrushed quality. It asks nothing further of her going forward. That is precisely the point of a retirement gift.

Does a Latte ceramic daffodil outlast a fresh one?

A Latte ceramic daffodil outlasts a fresh-cut daffodil easily -- fresh daffodils last roughly a week in water before wilting, while this ceramic version holds its exact warm color indefinitely with no maintenance required. There is no vase to refill and no petals to eventually clean up off a counter or table. One of them needs replacing. The other one does not.

Is a ceramic daffodil a good gift for woman?

A ceramic daffodil makes a strong retirement gift for a woman because it requires nothing from her after the moment she receives it -- no watering schedule, no replacing, no upkeep of any kind. The Latte Daffodil's warm, considered color suits a gift meant to mark an unhurried new chapter. It simply stays exactly as given, indefinitely.
