Green star polyps grow as soft mats covered in tiny star-shaped animals, and under aquarium lights they glow a green so bright it looks electrical. The Avocado Green Star Polyp has turned the lights down. This ceramic version spans 4.75 inches and sits 2 inches deep: a central star surrounded by smaller ones, glazed in an earthy, lived-in green. Mounted on one screw, it sits easily beside wood, linen and houseplants. It does not spread across the tank, because there is no tank.

How to hang & display

Wall hanging

Works on drywall, plaster, or wood panelling. Drive a small screw at a slight upward angle, leaving the head proud of the wall. Slide the keyhole slot on the back over the screw head, adjust to level. Sits flush — no visible hardware.

No stud? No problem. A drywall anchor rated for the weight works fine.

Displaying a collection

Lay everything out on the floor first. Start with your anchor piece, build outward. Keep 2–3 inches between each piece and aim for the centre of the whole arrangement to land around eye level. Use painter's tape on the wall to map positions before committing to any screws.

Table & shelf display: Equally beautiful propped on a shelf, mantle, or side table. Pair with books, candles, or a small pot.

  2. Keep away from direct moisture, steam, and outdoor conditions. Indoor display only.

Turning Down the Neon

Green star polyps grow as soft mats covered in tiny star-shaped animals, each with a ring of thin tentacles that open in a wash of green. We condensed that mat into a single piece, a central star surrounded by smaller ones, so it reads as a colony without turning into texture. The tentacles were shaped short and fine, splayed just enough to suggest movement. Avocado green was a deliberate step away from the vivid neon these polyps show under aquarium lights. It is an earthier, more lived-in green, the color of the coral in natural light rather than under a blue lamp. The glaze deepens at the center of each star, giving the piece a quiet glow.
