Wall hanging

Works on drywall, plaster, or wood panelling. Drive a small screw at a slight upward angle, leaving the head proud of the wall. Slide the keyhole slot on the back over the screw head, adjust to level. Sits flush — no visible hardware.

No stud? No problem. A drywall anchor rated for the weight works fine.

Displaying a collection

Lay everything out on the floor first. Start with your anchor piece, build outward. Keep 2–3 inches between each piece and aim for the centre of the whole arrangement to land around eye level. Use painter's tape on the wall to map positions before committing to any screws.

Tighter Layers Than the Rest

Somewhere in the naming process for this flower, two words that had never met before got introduced at a party and decided to move in together, and we're still not entirely sure how the households merged as smoothly as they did. Buttercup carries a specific, unpretentious cheerfulness. Elegance carries the energy of someone who irons things that don't strictly need ironing. Building the ranunculus meant honoring both halves without letting either one win — enough ruffled abundance to earn the Buttercup half, enough precision in how each layer of petals nests into the next to earn the Elegance half. It's a genuinely fussy flower to build correctly; get the spacing wrong and it either looks sparse or looks like it's trying too hard, and both failures are obvious the moment the piece comes off the wheel. We went through more test pieces on this one than we'd like to admit before the proportions finally sat right. The finished piece manages contradiction better than most people do — cheerful and composed at the same time, cottage-garden and formal garden at once, taking up a spot on the wall that never once looks like it's trying to decide which version of itself to be.
