Build Your Floral Wall With These:

Designed to cluster naturally, like a wild garden. Choose a flower as your design anchor, then grow your custom floral wall with these companions:

A 46th anniversary gift has to compete with forty-six years of gifts that came before it, which is a lot of pressure for anything, though the Latte Lola Echeveria does not appear to feel it. Lola is a name that arrives with a backstory already attached — nobody named Lola has ever had a quiet year in her life. The echeveria, to its credit, is the most architecturally composed thing in any room it has ever entered: geometric, succulent, entirely unbothered by whatever Lola gets up to next. Latte Lola is what happens when that backstory meets that composure and the two of them decide, against reasonable odds, to make it work for forty-six years and counting. Every rosette is shaped by hand at Chive Ceramics Studio, so the composure never actually chips or fades. The Ansel Adams Gallery has carried this piece in its shop for years, an association Lola treats as entirely expected.

How to hang & display

Wall hanging

Works on drywall, plaster, or wood panelling. Drive a small screw at a slight upward angle, leaving the head proud of the wall. Slide the keyhole slot on the back over the screw head, adjust to level. Sits flush — no visible hardware.

No stud? No problem. A drywall anchor rated for the weight works fine.

Displaying a collection

Lay everything out on the floor first. Start with your anchor piece, build outward. Keep 2–3 inches between each piece and aim for the centre of the whole arrangement to land around eye level. Use painter's tape on the wall to map positions before committing to any screws.

Table & shelf display: Equally beautiful propped on a shelf, mantle, or side table. Pair with books, candles, or a small pot.

The Latte Lola Echeveria, Explained

Lola arrived as a name before the glaze did, which is unusual for how we typically develop a piece. Someone on the team simply said the echeveria "looked like a Lola" during an early review, and nobody could articulate exactly why, but everyone agreed immediately and the name stuck without further discussion. Echeverias are naturally the most architecturally composed succulent we work with — tight, geometric, symmetrical rosettes that look engineered rather than grown, even though nothing about the process is engineered at all. Latte, the glaze, softens that geometric precision into something warmer than the succulent's usual cool, matte finish. The combination took longer to balance than expected, since a warm glaze on a sharply geometric form can easily read as a mismatch if the proportions aren't handled carefully throughout the build. We adjusted the rosette's spacing twice during development specifically to let the latte tone pool naturally into the creases without losing the crisp geometric edges that make an echeveria recognizable at a glance from across a room. Forty-six years into anything, composure this deliberate stops looking accidental and starts looking like the entire strategy all along. Lola, appropriately, has never once looked like she's trying, which took considerably more effort on our end than it appears to have taken on hers.

Part of the Japan Collection

The Japan collection learned its patience from rooms built around one object instead of a crowded shelf — an off-center bloom, an asymmetrical bract, a glaze left looking unfinished. Every piece trades abundance for one flower a room needs. The Latte Lola Echeveria holds a shelf on its own better than most comparable pieces, its tight geometric rosette needing zero company. A symbolic violet mum offers something to look at close by.

Two Ways to Display

Every Chive ceramic flower works two ways: mounted vertically as a growing gallery wall, or laid flat as a no-water tablescape. The Latte Lola Echeveria holds its geometric rosette shape whether mounted vertically on a wall or set flat across a console beside actual living succulents nearby. Unlike its living neighbors, Lola never needs rotating toward the light to keep growing evenly across every single side of the rosette, permanently, forever.

Complete the Look

The Latte Lola Echeveria never needs the drainage the Liberte Porcelain Pot, 4 inches, was specifically built to provide, but the living succulent sitting in that pot definitely does need it. Put Lola on the wall and something that actually needs watering in the pot on the shelf directly beneath her, and the whole arrangement finally makes complete, obvious sense to anyone looking.

About Chive Ceramics Studio

The goal in 2004, when this studio first opened, was making flowers that could survive an owner who forgets to water anything at all for months on end. Nothing gets mass-produced from a single mold here — it's the slower, considerably more expensive way to make a ceramic flower, and genuinely the only way the team has ever seriously considered doing it. Echeverias presented a specific problem of their own: getting a warm glaze to sit correctly on such a sharply geometric, symmetrical form took noticeably more testing than most catalog pieces ever require. Lola was worth every extra round of it. Forty-six years into any marriage, apparently, so is showing up looking exactly this composed.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Latte Lola Echeveria hang on the wall?

How does the Latte Lola Echeveria hang on the wall? A single keyhole cutout on the back lets it mount flush against one nail, with no bracket or wire required anywhere on it. Lola goes up level in about the time it takes to find a stud-free spot on the wall. Simple, honestly.

What is a good 46th anniversary gift idea?

What is a good 46th anniversary gift idea? A good 46th anniversary gift idea has to work harder than most, since forty-six years has already outlasted every traditional material list ever printed. The Latte Lola Echeveria brings architectural composure in a color nobody else is handing out this far into a marriage. It doesn't need a tradition to justify itself.

Is a ceramic echeveria a good 46th anniversary gift?

Is a ceramic echeveria a good 46th anniversary gift? A ceramic echeveria is a genuinely good 46th anniversary gift precisely because there's no obvious 46th-year material to compete with or disappoint by skipping entirely. Lola's geometric rosette looks deliberate rather than improvised for the occasion. It reads as chosen, not last-minute.

Does a echeveria work as wabi sabi wall art?

Does a echeveria work as wabi sabi wall art? A ceramic echeveria in this latte glaze works as wabi sabi wall art because its geometric, understated form avoids anything glossy or overly polished looking. It looks considered rather than decorated, which is a harder trick than it sounds. Restraint, again, turns out to be the entire design brief.

Does the Latte Lola Echeveria ship in a gift box?

Does the Latte Lola Echeveria ship in a gift box? Yes, the Latte Lola Echeveria ships in a branded gift box, ready to hand over without any wrapping paper detour required on your end. Nothing inside needs assembly or a manual to figure out. It arrives finished, exactly as it will look on the wall.

What is a good ceramic echeveria gift for couple?

What is a good ceramic echeveria gift for couple? A ceramic echeveria makes a genuinely good gift for a couple who has been together long enough to stop needing matching everything and start appreciating one considered object instead. Lola's architectural composure suits a shared wall without picking sides. It's diplomatic, in glaze form.

Does a Latte Lola ceramic echeveria outlast a fresh one?

Does a Latte Lola ceramic echeveria outlast a fresh one? A fresh echeveria can actually survive quite a while if you remember it exists, which is precisely the problem most people run into eventually. The Latte Lola ceramic version requires no memory at all and holds its exact rosette shape forever. No forgetting, no wilting, no guilt.

Is a ceramic echeveria a good gift for couple?

Is a ceramic echeveria a good gift for couple? A ceramic echeveria is a genuinely good gift for a couple because it settles the ongoing debate about who forgot to water the actual plant last time. Lola never needs watering, moving to better light, or forgiveness. Forty-six years in, that's a real gift.
