Build Your Floral Wall With These:

Designed to cluster naturally, like a wild garden. Choose a flower as your design anchor, then grow your custom floral wall with these companions:

A 49th anniversary gift calls for precision, and Ivory Amandine Ranunculus delivers the most delicate, exacting shape in the entire lineup by a comfortable margin. Each layered petal is smaller and more tightly formed than anything else Chive makes in ivory, giving the piece a level of detail that rewards a closer look without ever losing its composure or its restraint. It works especially well against hamptons decor, and suits a gift for a real estate agent who notices craftsmanship in the smallest, easiest-to-miss details of a room. This ranunculus takes shape layer by individual layer at the studio, long before the glaze is ever set. It needs no vase, no water line to check, no plant food of any kind, ever, for as long as it's on the wall. Parrish Art Museum displays a small selection of Chive pieces in its own museum shop, this ranunculus one of the current rotation, near other finely detailed, quietly composed objects.

How to hang & display

Wall hanging

Works on drywall, plaster, or wood panelling. Drive a small screw at a slight upward angle, leaving the head proud of the wall. Slide the keyhole slot on the back over the screw head, adjust to level. Sits flush — no visible hardware.

No stud? No problem. A drywall anchor rated for the weight works fine.

Displaying a collection

Lay everything out on the floor first. Start with your anchor piece, build outward. Keep 2–3 inches between each piece and aim for the centre of the whole arrangement to land around eye level. Use painter's tape on the wall to map positions before committing to any screws.

Table & shelf display: Equally beautiful propped on a shelf, mantle, or side table. Pair with books, candles, or a small pot.

Ivory Chrysanthemum ceramic wall flower styled on wall — Coastal Collection — Chive Studio Toronto

Unique coastal decor, original flower designs in 200+ art galleries and institutions worldwide

The most delicate, precise shape in the whole ivory lineup — every petal layered individually, nothing left to approximation — and exactly the kind of piece someone buys for a room they have clearly, visibly, thought very hard about. You can tell from the order itself, honestly, before the flower even ships. Some purchases just have a certain deliberateness to them.

And sure enough, before the box has even left the building, we get a full paint-chip description of the room this ranunculus is headed toward. Not just "white" or "ivory" — an actual accounting of the specific shade, sometimes with the name of the paint included, as though we might need it for some kind of records request. We do not. We keep every one of those emails anyway. I genuinely don't know why at this point. It's become a tradition, the same way certain families keep ticket stubs from concerts nobody else remembers attending.

I think what I like about it is the care behind it — the same care that goes into layering forty individual petals by hand gets mirrored right back at us by someone thinking hard enough about their wall to write us an email about it. It feels like a fair trade, even if nobody asked for either side of it.

Designed to Share the Same Room

Ivory Comanche Peony ceramic wall flower styled on wall — Coastal Collection — Chive Studio Toronto

Part of the Coastal Collection

The Coastal collection picked up its ease from porches that never worried about salt air, since nothing here was ever precious — driftwood pale, sea glass blue, a shell-toned bloom left weathered. Every piece trades gloss for something sun-faded. Ivory Amandine Ranunculus carries that same quiet precision into any room it happens to enter, each individually layered petal built for a wall that already knows exactly what it wants from it.

Two Ways to Display

Every Chive ceramic flower works two ways: mounted vertically as a growing gallery wall, or laid flat as a no-water tablescape. Ivory Amandine Ranunculus rewards a closer look whether it's hung alone at eye level, or arranged flat among other finely detailed ivory shapes in the same collection. Group several together for a tablescape with genuine texture and real depth that never needs a single drop of water or any regular upkeep at all.

Complete the Look

Ivory Amandine Ranunculus, with its finely layered petals, pairs especially well with a small hanging plant that adds softness without competing for detail. The Mini Mofo Hanging Planter in White keeps the palette light while introducing real greenery into the grouping. Hang them at slightly staggered heights for a look that feels layered rather than symmetrical. The pairing gives the ranunculus's fine detail some visual breathing room nearby.

The Safe Color Was Never Safe. — Coastal Collection.

The Amandine Ranunculus is, by a wide margin, the most technically demanding piece in the entire ivory lineup, since every layered petal has to be built up individually rather than pressed as a single form. Chive ceramics studio has been shaping pieces this way since 2004, and this particular shape still takes noticeably longer at the wheel than almost anything else we produce. We considered simplifying it more than once, over the years, mostly for the sake of production speed. We never did. The extra time is the entire reason the piece looks the way it does up close, and ivory has a way of rewarding that kind of patience more than any bolder glaze ever could.

Frequently asked questions

How does a Ivory Amandine Ranunculus hang on the wall?

A Ivory Amandine Ranunculus hangs from a single hook using the keyhole slot on the back of the piece. Its layered petals add some visual weight but very little actual weight, so a standard hook holds it easily. Most people find the mounting process takes less than a minute once the hook is placed.

What is a beautiful 49th anniversary gift idea?

A beautiful 49th anniversary gift idea should have real visual presence without feeling like an obvious placeholder for the fiftieth next year. Ivory Amandine Ranunculus delivers exactly that level of detail and genuine intention. Its delicate, layered shape rewards a closer look every time. Forty-nine deserves something considered, not just a warm-up act.

Is a ceramic ranunculus a good anniversary gift?

A ceramic ranunculus makes a genuinely good anniversary gift, especially given the level of detail packed into every individually layered petal by hand. Ivory Amandine Ranunculus requires no water, no sunlight, no seasonal replacement of any kind, ever again. It simply holds its precise shape for years. That reads as meaningful craftsmanship.

Does an ivory ceramic ranunculus work as hamptons decor?

An ivory ceramic ranunculus works especially well as hamptons decor, since that aesthetic favors refined, quiet detail over anything loud or oversized. Ivory Amandine Ranunculus brings genuine precision to a wall without disrupting the relaxed coastal feel. Its delicate petals reward a closer look, which suits that unhurried design language perfectly.

What ships inside the box with a Ivory Ranunculus order?

Every Ivory Ranunculus order ships in a branded Chive gift box, sized to protect the piece's more delicate layered petals during transit. A printed card explains the built-in hanging hardware on the back of the piece. Nothing requires assembly beyond finding the right hook. It arrives ready to mount right away.

What is a thoughtful gift for a real estate agent?

A thoughtful gift for a real estate agent should reflect an eye for detail, since that's essentially their entire profession. Ivory Amandine Ranunculus rewards close inspection the same way a well-staged room does. It requires zero maintenance, which fits a schedule that rarely allows for upkeep. Several agents have specifically requested this piece for their own offices.

How long does a ceramic ranunculus last versus a fresh bouquet?

A ceramic ranunculus lasts indefinitely versus a fresh bouquet, which typically wilts within a week regardless of how carefully it's arranged. Ivory Amandine Ranunculus holds every individual petal layer for years without any visible change. There's no vase, no water, no eventual disposal to plan for. It simply stays precisely as detailed.

Is a ceramic ranunculus a good closing gift?

A ceramic ranunculus makes a strong closing gift, mostly because it signals genuine thoughtfulness rather than a generic bottle of wine everyone else sends. Ivory Amandine Ranunculus fits naturally into a brand new home regardless of existing decor. It requires no maintenance during an already overwhelming moving process. That practicality tends to be remembered.
