Build Your Floral Wall With These:

Designed to cluster naturally, like a wild garden. Choose a flower as your design anchor, then grow your custom floral wall with these companions:

An 8th anniversary gift traditionally points toward pottery or bronze, and a ceramic Burnt Orange Stargazer Lily satisfies both without picking a lane. The real stargazer lily is the reason Chive started making ceramic flowers in the first place — a scent that walks into a room a full twenty minutes ahead of the bloom itself, aggressive enough that guests start looking for their coats. Ceramic solved that permanently; the color survives, the smell doesn't, and burnt orange gives the whole arrangement a warmer, less funeral-adjacent presence than the traditional white. It mounts with one screw and holds its shape on a wall instead of a countertop, which is where most stargazers eventually get banished anyway. Wadsworth Atheneum has held ceramic and pottery works for generations precisely because the medium keeps its color the way fresh flowers never do. Chive Ceramics Studio has shaped pieces this bold by hand since 2004, one screw and ninety seconds to hang.

How to hang & display

Wall hanging

Works on drywall, plaster, or wood panelling. Drive a small screw at a slight upward angle, leaving the head proud of the wall. Slide the keyhole slot on the back over the screw head, adjust to level. Sits flush — no visible hardware.

No stud? No problem. A drywall anchor rated for the weight works fine.

Displaying a collection

Lay everything out on the floor first. Start with your anchor piece, build outward. Keep 2–3 inches between each piece and aim for the centre of the whole arrangement to land around eye level. Use painter's tape on the wall to map positions before committing to any screws.

Table & shelf display: Equally beautiful propped on a shelf, mantle, or side table. Pair with books, candles, or a small pot.

Why the Studio Started Here

The stargazer lily is the actual reason Chive started making ceramic flowers, and I don't say that lightly. The smell walks into a room a full twenty minutes before the flower physically arrives, announces itself to everyone present, and by the time the vase is actually in the doorway half the guests are already checking their coat pockets for an exit strategy. I love this flower. I have also, on more than one occasion, moved it to a different room mid-dinner party without telling anyone why. Burnt orange seemed like a reasonable color to freeze permanently in ceramic, since the real bloom rarely holds still long enough to be appreciated calmly by anyone standing within ten feet of it. The stargazer's signature upward-facing bloom and recurved petals are all still here, glazed by hand to hold that same dramatic, wide-open shape indefinitely. What's missing is the scent, the pollen stains on every tablecloth within reach, and the mild sense of being ambushed by a flower arrangement. It mounts with a single screw, no water, no early-warning system required before guests arrive. The stargazer has been staring at the ceiling this entire time, which is, admittedly, exactly where it belongs and always has.

Part of the France Collection

The France collection inherited its manners from countryside kitchens that never apologized for a chipped teacup or a crooked shutter — faded rose, sun-bleached poppy, a peony that's seen a few decades. Every piece trades polish for something already lived-in. Chive started making ceramic flowers because of this exact bloom, a scent aggressive enough to clear a room before it arrives. A brighter daisy carries the same warmth in a different shape.

Two Ways to Display

Every Chive ceramic flower works two ways: mounted vertically as a growing gallery wall, or laid flat as a no-water tablescape. The sun-warmed glaze on this carnation shifts subtly depending on which direction light enters the room, a detail no photograph fully captures. Laid flat on a table, that same shifting color becomes the surface's quiet anchor rather than a static object sitting there. It never wilts by whatever date it was actually bought for.

Complete the Look

A flower this bold needs something quieter nearby rather than competing for the spotlight, and this five-inch planter fills that role without any real effort. It sits well below or beside the stargazer without ever fighting for attention. One is watered weekly; the other never needs a drop. Buying both together saves a second trip to furnish the same corner. Channa Ceramic Planter Pot 5 Inch

The Scent That Started All of This

Chive Ceramics Studio opened in 2004 around a fairly specific complaint: the most dramatic flowers are also usually the most demanding, wilting, staining, or overpowering a room within days of arrival. Every piece we make studies the real bloom closely first — its exact color, its petal structure, the way it holds a shape in good light — before a single form gets glazed. Stargazer lilies in particular took several rounds of testing to get the recurved petal angle right without the finished piece looking stiff. That approach, refined for over twenty years now, has built out a full wall's worth of options, each one keeping what made the original flower worth having in the first place. No stains, no fading, no need to relocate anything mid-dinner party ever again.

Frequently asked questions

How does a Burnt Orange Stargazer Lily hang on the wall?

A Burnt Orange Stargazer Lily mounts with a single screw through the keyhole fitting on the ceramic back, no additional hardware needed at all. The mount takes about ninety seconds once the screw is in place on the wall. It hangs flush and stays level indefinitely. No pollen risk during install.

What is a meaningful 8th anniversary pottery gift?

An 8th anniversary pottery gift traditionally points toward ceramic or bronze, and a Burnt Orange Stargazer Lily satisfies that tradition directly rather than loosely. It mounts permanently on a wall, unlike a bouquet that fades within a week of the actual anniversary. The bold, upward-facing bloom shape reads as a genuine statement piece rather than a token gesture.

Is a ceramic stargazer lily a good 8th anniversary gift?

Yes — a ceramic stargazer lily satisfies the traditional 8th anniversary pottery material directly, unlike most gift categories that only loosely connect to the theme. It captures the dramatic, wide-open bloom shape without the overwhelming scent or pollen the fresh version brings into a home. It mounts with one screw and needs no vase or water at all.

What is a gift for a gardener who grows stargazer lilies?

A gift for a gardener who grows stargazer lilies works best when it celebrates the bloom without adding to their existing care routine at home. A Burnt Orange Stargazer Lily hangs on a wall instead of needing a spot in a bed or border. It captures the shape permanently, with nothing to stake.

What ships inside the box with a Burnt Orange Stargazer Lily order?

A Burnt Orange Stargazer Lily arrives in one box containing the flower, its mounting screw, and a brief printed guide. There's nothing to charge, calibrate, or assemble beyond the screw itself going into the wall. Packaging is tested to survive standard shipping conditions without chipping the glaze. It's ready the moment it's unboxed.

Does a Burnt Orange Stargazer Lily work as statement wall art?

Yes — a Burnt Orange Stargazer Lily works well as statement wall art since the bold, upward-facing bloom shape and deep orange color draw attention the way the real flower's scent used to. It holds its own as a single piece or as the anchor of a larger gallery wall cluster. No fragrance to manage.

How long does a Burnt Orange Stargazer Lily last versus fresh?

A fresh stargazer lily typically lasts five to seven days in a vase before the petals brown and the scent turns unpleasant. A ceramic Burnt Orange Stargazer Lily doesn't have that timeline at all — the color and shape stay exactly as glazed, indefinitely, with zero scent to manage. It simply holds its place.

Is a ceramic stargazer lily a good Mother's Day gift for gardeners?

Yes — a ceramic stargazer lily makes a fitting Mother's Day gift for gardeners who already know how quickly the real bloom fades and how strong its scent gets indoors. The Burnt Orange Stargazer Lily keeps the dramatic petal shape without either drawback. It mounts easily in any room she already spends time in.
