Build Your Floral Wall With These:

Designed to cluster naturally, like a wild garden. Choose a flower as your design anchor, then grow your custom floral wall with these companions:

Above couch wall decor that fills the blank without overwhelming the living room — the Fjord Bloom set assembles nine ceramic flowers in ivory, oatmeal, pink sand, blue grey, and fancy blue, a Nordic palette scaled to cover the wide stretch of wall that anchors most seating arrangements. Shaped by hand at Chive Ceramics Studio, every bloom responds to the kiln individually, producing glaze surfaces that range from matte to softly luminous depending on the firing humidity that particular day. Two roses, a spider mum, water lily, marigold, gerbera daisy, hibiscus, hawthorn, and cosmo span 3.5 to 5.75 inches — enough variation to compose a statement piece above a seventy-inch sofa or a reading-corner settee. Each flower comes sealed inside its own protective packaging with keyhole hardware already attached for single-screw mounting. Fjord Bloom is carried by Longwood Gardens, whose permanent gallery spaces demand art that holds up across seasons and years without intervention.

How to hang & display

Wall hanging

Works on drywall, plaster, or wood panelling. Drive a small screw at a slight upward angle, leaving the head proud of the wall. Slide the keyhole slot on the back over the screw head, adjust to level. Sits flush — no visible hardware.

No stud? No problem. A drywall anchor rated for the weight works fine.

Displaying a collection

Lay everything out on the floor first. Start with your anchor piece, build outward. Keep 2–3 inches between each piece and aim for the centre of the whole arrangement to land around eye level. Use painter's tape on the wall to map positions before committing to any screws.

Table & shelf display: Equally beautiful propped on a shelf, mantle, or side table. Pair with books, candles, or a small pot.

Fjord Bloom - 9 Piece Set - Chive Ceramics Studio - Ceramic Flower Sets - Chive Ceramics Studio

What flowers are included?

Our design team picked these. It took longer than it should have — someone always has opinions about petal shapes, and at least one person was caught quietly swapping out someone else's color choices. What's below is what made it through. Click any name for dimensions, color detail, and close-ups of the individual piece.

The Story Behind This Collection

Fjord Bloom is the biggest set in the Scandinavian range and the one we debated the longest, because nine flowers in a collection built on restraint is either exactly the right amount of confidence or a betrayal of the whole idea. We landed on confidence. The palette told us to — ivory rose and oatmeal hawthorn sit next to fancy blue marigold and blue grey gerbera daisy without anyone raising their voice, which is the kind of color diplomacy you can only achieve when every shade in the group has been through the same kiln and come out speaking the same tonal language. The pink sand hibiscus is the emotional center of the set, the bloom people touch first in the showroom and the one that usually decides the sale. We learned that by watching, not asking. The cosmo and the hawthorn bookend the arrangement as the two smallest pieces, and they function the way punctuation does in a long sentence — not the main idea, but the thing that keeps the main idea from running off the page. Nine flowers, one argument for controlled abundance, and a name borrowed from a word that already sounds like what the set looks like.

Classic Collection

The Classic Collection encompasses forty-eight designs spanning the studio's entire creative history, from the earliest hand-formed silhouettes to the latest reactive glaze experiments. Fjord Bloom pulls its ivory rose and oatmeal water lily from this range — two pieces that have been steady sellers for years and still manage to look new when grouped together.

Coastal Collection

The Coastal Collection shares Fjord Bloom's affinity for washed-out blues and sandy neutrals. Twenty-six flowers in that range explore the same sun-faded energy across a wider selection — ideal if the nine-piece set convinced you that this palette belongs on more than one wall in the house.

Grow Something Real

For the botanical counterpart to ceramic, Shido Seeds supplies the growing side of the partnership between walls and windowsills. The Eggplant Seeds are a practical and rewarding pick — straightforward to cultivate in any kitchen garden and satisfying enough to remind you that some beautiful things do need watering.

About Chive Studio

Since 2004, Chive Ceramics Studio has been making flowers that never need watering, which is a sentence that sounded stranger two decades ago than it does now. The catalog has grown past a hundred and eighty individual designs, and somewhere along the way we realized that offering all of them simultaneously was creating more anxiety than joy for certain shoppers who just wanted a wall finished by the weekend. The curated sets are the correction — pre-selected groupings tested by the team that made them, shipped in individual wrapping, each bloom fitted with its own keyhole mount. We did the deciding and the testing; you handle the hanging and the compliments.

Frequently asked questions

How many pieces come in the Fjord Bloom curated set?

The Fjord Bloom curated set includes nine ceramic flower pieces. That makes it the largest grouping in the Scandinavian range — two roses, a spider mum, water lily, marigold, gerbera daisy, hibiscus, hawthorn, and cosmo. Nine shapes, nine glaze reactions, and still somehow a set that looks calm on the wall.

What is a good above couch wall decor ceramic flower set?

A good above couch wall decor ceramic flower set needs to fill a wide horizontal space without looking scattered or sparse. Fjord Bloom's nine pieces were selected to span that challenge — enough coverage for a seventy-inch sofa back with visual weight distributed across varied silhouettes that hold the eye without competing. The sofa decides the width; the set handles the rest.

What colors are in the Fjord Bloom flower collection?

Fjord Bloom covers ivory, oatmeal, pink sand, fancy blue, and blue grey across its nine blooms. The palette is wider than most Scandinavian sets because the piece count demanded it — too many flowers in one tone would flatten the arrangement. The blues provide the cool note; the sand tones anchor the group warmth.

How do I arrange the Fjord Bloom set on my wall?

Position the largest bloom — the 5.75-inch pink sand marigold — slightly off-center above the couch. Arrange the mid-size pieces in a loose crescent on either side, and tuck the smallest blooms at the edges to close the composition. Three inches between flowers gives the wall room to breathe. Let the grouping follow the sofa line.

Is the Fjord Bloom curated collection easy to hang?

Every piece in the Fjord Bloom curated collection ships with keyhole hardware pre-fitted on the back. Nine screws, a pencil, and a level are all you need. Most people finish the layout and hanging in about twenty minutes — slightly longer than a five-piece set because you are making nine decisions instead of five.

What size is the Fjord Bloom curated set?

The oatmeal hawthorn is the most compact Fjord Bloom piece at 3.5 inches wide, and the pink sand brocade marigold tops the range at 5.75 inches. The other seven blooms fill the middle, generally between 3.75 and 5.5 inches across. Grouped on a wall, the full arrangement can stretch anywhere from twenty to thirty-six inches depending on spacing.

Can Fjord Bloom ceramic flowers be bought individually?

All nine ceramic flowers in the Fjord Bloom set are sold individually in the Chive catalog, so you can assemble the same arrangement flower by flower if you prefer. The set collects the curation and delivers it as one order — a convenience for anyone who wants the finished wall faster than the browsing process typically allows.

What rooms suit the Fjord Bloom set best?

The Fjord Bloom set suits living rooms, family rooms, great rooms, and any open-plan space where the wall above the seating needs a focal point. The muted blues and sand tones cooperate with most neutral and cool paint palettes, making it versatile enough for rooms that change furniture more often than art.
